Out of the around 1.3 million Swedes who emigrated during the 1800s and early 1900s, the majority settled in the U.S. However, a significant number of Swedes also made Canada their home. In addition, Swedish descendants can be found in South America and other parts of the world.Â

While this blog will primarily focus on North America, it will also include facts and insights for those with Swedish ancestors in South America and beyond. In my own family tree, I have Swedish ancestors who emigrated to the U.S., Canada, Argentina, and South Africa.
